Corey

Corey’s passion to see young people reach their potential stems from his own victories through the struggles of adolescence. Seeking acceptance and security in all the wrong places, Corey was addicted to drugs and his life was on a downward spiral. Corey sought help for issues that were controlling his life through an organisation called Teen Challenge, a residential rehabilitation program for young men.

During his time in the program Corey was recognised for having a servant heart and felt a strong calling on his life to assist other young people to overcome problems controlling their lives  Upon completion of the program, Corey pursued an internship with Teen Challenge giving back of his time to support the centre that supported him, gaining experience and training while completing a Cert IV in Youth Work and a Cert IV in Mental Health.

“I remember times in my life when I was desperate for direction and support, crying out for help, recalls Corey, I want to provide that support for other kids who are just like I was.”

In December of 2009 Corey was married and is now based in Toowoomba with his wife Jacinda and two year old daughter Charlie. Corey strongly values his family relationships and believes one of the best ways to bring the family together is through another one of his passions; food. Corey loves cooking and looks forward to the next opportunity to share a meal with friends and family.
